Your Road To Resolution Begins By Partnering With Our Dedicated Firm

Our Firm’s New Direction

Effective January 1, 2023, Shon Cook Law, PC changed to TABONO LAW. After 10 years of operating a firm under the name of its founder, the firm experienced unprecedented growth and energy that became bigger than one person. The transition to TABONO LAW recognizes the accomplishments of everyone in the law firm and its commitment to expand legal services and provide greater value to our clients and the community.

TABONO is an ancient West African symbol that stands for hard work and determination to achieve a final goal. It is a reminder that we must always strive to become better and work harder to meet the results of our clients. TABONO literally means “oar” in the Adrinka language and each of the four oars stands for the core values of strength, confidence, hard work and unity of purpose.

TABONO LAW is excited to be rooted in the West Michigan community and provide the best legal services available.

Foundations Of The Practice

Founding attorney Shon Anne Cook has been practicing family law for nearly 30 years. Attorney Shon Cook has led the firm with a goal of helping Michigan families resolve legal matters, including divorce, custody issues, child support and post-judgment modifications. Shon also assists families with adoptions and guardianships.

The firm also is interested in resolving cases outside the courtroom. Shon Cook and Jeanie Colella are trained Mediators in Family Law, Civil Mediation, and Mediation in the Workplace. As Mediators, decisions are reached by the parties with a plan on how to navigate issues surrounding Family Law concerns. Power is retained to the parties at the table to resolve conflict.
